Dear Patients and Families

As the mandatory stay-at-home order comes to an end, our team members and I are diligently preparing to see you again. Since your previous appointment was directly affected by the closure, we want to assure you that getting you rescheduled is our top priority.

Within the next two weeks, you will receive a call from our front office team to reschedule your appointment.

Our office is also implementing new safety protocols under the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Controls, the California Dental Association and the California Department of Public Health to ensure the health of our team and patients. In addition, we are adding new equipment technology to further improve our efforts to provide safe, comfortable, and high quality pediatric dental and orthodontic care. This added new technology on order incorporates specialized individual chair-side Dental High Evacuation Suction units that utilize HEPA-Rx Particulate and Carbon Filtration with Germicidal UV-C+ light chambers to effectively capture and disinfect aerosols generated during certain dental procedures. Hospital-grade Air Purification machines which also have HEPA/Carbon filters and Germicidal UV Light Technology have also been ordered for the reception room, clinical area, and front-staff room.
Other changes that we have instituted include the removal of items in our reception room, such as magazines and toys, to allow for frequent and easy disinfection of all hard surfaces. You will also see limited seating in the reception area to allow for social distancing. Our new protocols will include communication regarding your family’s current health status prior to scheduling an appointment as well as pre-appointment screening questions and body temperature checks upon arriving. We will be requesting that you stay in your car until called into the office and that one person accompanies your child for their appointment. We are also required to ask you to wear your own face-mask upon entering the office. We hope you will still recognize us as well since we will also be wearing enhanced personal protective equipment including face-shields, masks, and clinical gowns.

As always, If your child is experiencing a dental emergency, please contact us at 619-461-6166.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. We have missed all of you. Your oral health remains our top priority and we are excited to see you again very soon!

Sincerely,

Dr. Santiago Surillo and Team
